The Online Dating Stigma Releases It’s Grip

Online Dating Stigma No More?
Online Dating be it generic happy boy meets girl, falls in love kind of stuff is really growing in the UK and also in many overseas markets, adult dating and various niche services are also springing up, for example dating for the over fifties, religious and armed forces dating.
However for years the dating industry has been blighted by a stigma that at times has been so bad that members almost feel guilty over joining a dating web site. There is like a perception that you must be a little sad or inept if you can’t find a date the old fashioned way.
Though really, what is so good about the old fashioned way, going to a bar or club where there are more guys than women (or vice versa.) Nights out like that can have a pretty poor score rate and be pretty expensive to go with it.
To me it seems logical that a computer program or application which is essentially what a dating web site is will always do a better job of connecting you with people. Sure you need the site to have plenty of ‘real’ members and be fresh and uptodate with modern tools and technology.
Armed with such tools you can pinpoint people that you like the look of and make contact. Why is that so bad, really it is a no brainer. The age of social networking is I think breaking down barriers with the way we communicate, suddenly if its OK to be on Facebook or Twitter then maybe a dating site isn’t so bad. People live busy lives, the working week is jam packed and the weekend just leaves many playing catchup so dating remotely via a personal computer is the logical progressive route.
What about adult dating, that next naughty step up. Well adult dating has always been seen as both dating and entertainment, a myriad of people wanting different things ranging from trophy wives to on tap encounters with likeminded individuals. Again you could make the case that it is a ideal landscape for the busy and the free, reduce the time it takes to get to know people and find the right kind of partner in half the time. There are lots of free sites out there and paid sites also. Why pay you might say? Well these sites are more likely to be fresh, scammer free and well moderated.
A free site can have all sorts of people and profiles, many that could be several years old. However a lot of paid membership sites will offer a trial version so you can get to grip with the tools and see what kind of members are out there and whether they suit you or not.
There is a lot of choice now but this is a good thing, more niches are available, say you are looking for a partner into travelling or sports or just want someone a little kinky, there really is something for everyone and certainly dating online is no longer anything to be ashamed of. There should be many years of growth and opportunity ahead.
